Up, Up and Away! Flybe Aviation Services publish excellent results.
Feb 13, 2012

Flybe is a successful airline which has its headquarters in Exeter. It now employs more than 800 staff in 16 locations. What features less in the news is its behind-the-scenes engineering operation.
In fact, Flybe Aviation Services is one of the world's leading regional aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) centres. With more than 25 years of experience, Flybe provides a maintenance service for aeroplanes from all over Europe and from major regional operators and manufacturers. These aeroplanes are serviced at the company's vast maintenance hangar in Exeter.
Recently Flybe has seen an upturn in this business and is a recognised leader in its field. Its maintenance workload in the past quarter was up nearly 50% on the same period last year. Flybe puts this down to a dedication to customer satisfaction and a total commitment to meeting the requirements of the industry’s regulatory authorities.
Flybe is about to commission a second flight simulator for its multi-million pound training academy in March.
Despite difficult economic times for the UK aviation market, Flybe said its two behind-the-scenes facilities will underpin its long-term future in Exeter.
Flybe's training academy, which was opened officially last April by Chancellor George Osborne, provides courses for its pilots, cabin crew and engineers, as well as for third party customers.
