reasons to invest in Exeter
1. Economic activity rates exceed that of many competitor locations across the UK, including 8% higher than Bristol, 15% higher than Birmingham, and 18% higher than Manchester.
2. Rents and rates of prime office space are typically lower than competitor cities including Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Reading, and London (King Sturge). There are 3.75 million sq ft (348 thousand sq m) of office space.
3. In the medium to long term, significant investment in the region of 1.5 billion Euros is planned east of Exeter along the corridor between Junction 29 M5 and Exeter International Airport in road and rail infrastructure, strategic employment land including Exeter Science Park and the creation of a new community.
4. The University of Exeter is implementing its £450 million investment on campus, a key part being its Science Strategy, involving £80 million across five globally important interdisciplinary research themes
5. "Exeter is a great location for our headquarters, with good transport links by road, rail and air making it easily accessible from other parts of the UK and overseas. Since locating here from the Southeast of England in 2003 we have seen genuine benefits in terms of operating costs, staff recruitment and retention, supportive relationships with the city and county authorities and excellent links with the University and college."
