St Luke's Science and Sports College

We are the only Specialist Science College in Exeter and as such we have a duty to promote excellence in science education. We have the widest choice of pathways through GCSE Science of any school in Devon and have been recognised as providing the greatest value added Applied Science results in the Country for the last two years.

Science at St Luke’s has a strong cross curricular base, we work closely with the other STEM subjects as well as P.E, languages and Enterprise Education. We are at the forefront of science education offering diplomas in Engineering and Environmental and Land Based Studies in collaboration with the other colleges in Exeter/Mid Devon.

West Exe Community College

West Exe is very proud to be a triple specialism college and strives to make a difference to the lives of young people through this status.

They became a specialist college in 1996 when they gained Technology College status – one of the first schools in Devon, and indeed England, to do so.  Since then they have worked with their feeder schools, other secondary schools in the city and further afield and with business partners and other organisations nationally and internationally.

In 2006 their success was recognised through the HPSS (High Performing Specialist Schools) status and they gained triple specialism status, choosing Vocational (now Applied Learning) and Leading Edge as the specialism areas which best reflected their ethos and ambitions.

To date these have been very successful and have provided the framework for their journey to becoming an outstanding school.  The school curriculum, partnership work, use of ICT and learning and teaching policy all reflect these specialisms.
